I like this link because it has a lot of up to date information about Natural Hazards.  I usually use this to start out my search for stories in the news.

After finding a natural hazard I am interested in from the earth observatory website, I will go to google and type it into the search box to see what kind of stories they have out there about this particular event.
I also search for any current natural hazards such as floods, fires, etc.

Once I am on this website, I scroll down and they have a list of recent stories about weather conditions in certain areas.  I like this site because it gives me a wide variety of stories to choose from.

On this site, I type in weather in their search box and it usually gives me some pretty good stories about weather storms around the U.S. or the world.  I like this site because it has a lot of recent severe storms.

I like this site a lot too.  It keeps track of current hazards that just occurred in the world.  This is very useful because I can see what is happening in the world today and pick a one that I want to write about and research it.
